During her schooling, Shelby worked as a CNA at Oakwood Heritage and later moved into a Nurse Extern position in their Emergency Department (ED). Shelby then transferred to the Level 2 Trauma Center of Oakwood Dearborn’s Emergency Department, where she was able to continue to grow in her knowledge of emergency medicine. Upon graduation from nursing school and completion of her state boards, she transitioned into a Registered Nurse position at Oakwood Dearborn ED. Months later, Shelby began 6 years of employment as an RN in the ED at Henry Ford Hospital, a Level 1 Trauma Center in Detroit. While there, she was honored as the recipient of the "Daisy Award" for her excellent care of patients. After the arrival of their firstborn, Shelby felt led by the Lord to move into another aspect of trauma care. Currently, she works as a Nurse Case Manager with Huron Case Management where her aim is to treat each client as family and assist them the best she can through their time of crisis. Using her extensive knowledge of emergency medicine, Shelby is able to hold the hand of trauma patients as they walk through one of their darkest times during their post-hospital care. Shelby's highest priorities are to uphold the Judeo-Christian values of being truthful and trustworthy, just like Jesus exemplified.
